Activities
MEETINGS
The Association holds at least three meetings each year on topics of general interest to the Seaford Community. It always stands ready to convene public meetings if specific concerns arise. Recent topics have included:

MONITORING
The Executive Committee meets monthly to discuss any matters brought to our attention or raised by Committee members. Action is decided and matters are progressed through correspondence, personal representation to appropriate bodies and publicity in the local press. Individual Committee members accept particular responsibilities for topics on which they have experience and attend as observers the Town Council and several of its committees, for example:

    • Planning & Highways
    • Finance & General Purposes (observers only)
    • Community Services

LIAISON
The Association seeks to liaise with or has representation on many organisation in the Town:
  • Seahaven Crime Prevention Panel
  • Lewes & Seahaven Police/Community Consultative Group
  • Seaford Community Partnership
  • Citizens Advice Bureau Committee
  • Seaford Wide
  • DOVE (Defenders of the Ouse Valley and Estuary)

CURRENT ISSUES
There are many issues under discussion - some major, some minor - but all important to individuals and the Seaford Community:
  • Continuing pressure to ensure maintainance and improvement to Seaford and Bishopstone railway stations and train services locally.
  • Liaison with the local Police Consultative Group on such matters as:
    • Vandalism,
    • Crime prevention,
    • Security,
    • CCTV.
  • Waste disposal policy for East Sussex.
  • Proposed incinerator in Newhaven or the Ouse Valley.
  • Provision of a new Health Centre.
  • Grass cutting on roadside verges.
  • Tree Preservation Orders.
  • Proposed cycle routes.
  • South Downs National Park.
  • Proposals for the flooding of the Cuckmere Valley and the Seven Sisters Country Park.
  • Proposals for development along the seafront.
  • Proposed closure of Sixth Form at seaford head Community College.
