Change will happen
The Partnership has prepared a document which expresses the
realistic feelings and desires of the residents of Seaford towards the
development of the town over the next ten years. Whatever we feel, Seaford
is going to change as a result of external and internal forces operating in
Britain today powered by national and local government, statutory authorities,
public utilities, private developers and countless individual decisions.
Influence
The amount of influence which we have on those decisions is limited but can
be greatly increased if there is a clear statement, in advance of any proposals,
of what the people of Seaford want to happen. This will mean that there is,
not only a ready response to consultations on major issues such as the Local
Development Framework and Southeast Plan, but that our views might have been
taken into consideration when such proposals were drawn up. It has already
proved its worth in having the section on Transport ready for submission to the
Seaford Local Area Traffic Strategy a few months ago.
Consultation
This Strategy document is the first published edition, approved by the Seaford Community Partnership. This follows extensive consultation, in line
with the Code of Practice on Consultation in the East Sussex Compact, so that the final document reflects as accurately as possible the views of the
people and organisations of Seaford. Review of the ideas in the Strategy will be on-going as
internal and external pressures require.
